My Choice Is Clear

Drug testing, toxicology reports, support, addiction, dependency, clear status, my choice is clear.

By saying that an addict is now “clean” you are immediately stereotyping and one could deduce that from the statement that addicts are dirty.

This could be no further from the truth. Addiction is a condition, no different to diabetes for example, that needs to be treated in a certain way; and once in remission, this remission needs to be maintained, just as any other condition would need to be..

With this in mind let us use a less negative word for clean, let us use the word clear instead. Let us take it one step further and introduce the “my choice is CLEAR” campaign.

By being tested for drugs and showing that your choice is clear shows your support for a clear drug free South Africa. Showing that you are clear or taking to the steps to be drug tested to see your clear status is how we are trying to destigmatise drug addiction in SA.
